The 2018 mid-term elections resulted in many ‘firsts,’ including the first Native American women ever elected to Congress. Electing Native American leaders into Congress gives a voice to the unique barriers Native communities face, while also introducing a new perspective on shared concerns across their districts.
For PWNA, developing emerging leaders who want to make a greater impact on the reservations is an integral part of building strong, self-sufficient Native American communities.
PWNA launched the 4 Directions capacity building service to provide ongoing support to emerging tribal leaders, enhancing personal and professional development and their ability to have a greater impact on the lives of those around them.
