Native American Blogger Andrew Bentley

We have great news for all of our readers: A guest blogger will be joining us!! His name is Andrew Bentley and he’s an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina (the largest tribe east of the Mississippi.) Andrew is also a VISTA volunteer by trade.

National Relief Charities is fortunate to have Andrew in our service. I’ve had a small chance to work with him and already have found that he is informed and sensitive in his understanding of the indigenous cultures in this country. I feel safe to say that he will bring an important voice to the blog by sharing his perspectives on history, perceptions, the modern day struggle of Native people to balance traditional and modern life, and electronic or print media about Native people by Native people.

I hope you enjoy his upcoming post about the film ‘Reel Injun” and the Hollywood Indian. In the meantime, here’s a note from Andrew Bentley to you.
